Features

Dynamic Fleet is a feature rich system that helps your business to optimize your fleet management and route planning.

The list below describes some of the main features of the system.

Dynamic Fleet product features
  • Real-time optimization

Dynamic Fleet is a true real-time fleet management and route optimization system. The system provides the ability to add orders dynamically and the advanced algorithm automatically include these in route optimization. In addition, the system manages work calendars. In case a driver gets sick, the system distributes orders originally assigned to this driver to other drivers by a re-optimization.
  • Static and dynamic planning support

The system support static and dynamic (real time) vehicle routing, and routing problems in between. Static routing optimization finds repeatable routes e.g. routes repeated every week. Static optimization is well suited for maintenance services, where a vehicle/driver serves the same set of customers every week. The dynamic routing feature optimizes routes for orders not known in advance. Dynamic Fleet can also handle optimization problems that are mostly static but with a need for the ability to add new orders or cancel existing during the planning process.
  • Manual locking

Though the planning algorithm automatically assigns orders to vehicles there may certain situations where you need to overrule these decisions manually. For instance if you for some reason have agreed with a customer to send a particular employee at a specific time. By using an inbuilt locking mechanism, you can fix an order to a certain employee on a specific route.
  • Order management

Dynamic Fleet provides a user-friendly user interface to manage orders. You can can easily add new orders and modify or delete existing orders. Orders contains a demand, time window, customer location, description of the task, and an electronic feedback form in case the driver needs to fill out such a form at the customer's location. You can filter the order list by search criteria or sort by the different columns. A service interface enables integration so that orders can origin from another internal system.
  • Capacity and time constraints

All vehicles have a capacity and all orders have a demand. The algorithm optimizes in a way where sum of demands on a route do not exceed the capacity of the vehicle. You can set the demands to zero, and thereby omitting capacity constraints. The system operates with time windows. Each order specifies a time window, e.g. a span over a few hours or several days depending on the priority and customer's accessibility. The algorithm optimizes and assigns orders to routes for vehicles operating within this period.
  • Intelligent address lookup

The system has an intelligent address lookup function to provide an easy and user-friendly ability to add new customer locations. One input field above a digital map that suggests valid addresses as you type, and adds a marker to map as you press enter or selects and address. By two clicks, you can add a new customer at the found location. In addition, you can click on the map, and perform a reverse address lookup. It is possible to configure the system to different national or international address data stores.
  • Schedule view (Gantt)

A schedule view provide the ability to easily overview the schedule within a desired time span. Blue boxes within a light grey area illustrate the orders within a driving slot. A mouse click opens a dialog displaying all the details for a given order. You can interact and navigate in the Gantt view using the mouse wheel to zoom and mouse drag to scroll horizontally. It is possible to access the manual lock feature from the schedule view.
  • Interactive map

An interactive map displays the routes, and updates automatically whenever the algorithm modifies the routes. You can easily interact with the map using mouse and keyboard shortcuts. A route appear in a color associated to the vehicle. You can highlight a given route for a given day or time slot using mouse-over in the legend table next to the map.
  • Calendar management

In a real time scenario employees work according to different work calendars. Sometimes a certain employee is on leave or off work sick, sometimes the employee may be able to put in extra hours in a busy period. The system contains a calendar management function that allows for individual calendars.
  • Prepared for ERP integration

Dynamic Fleet is a system based on services and built for integrations with your other business system. If your ERP system contains all the order and customer data, an integration can send your order data from the ERP system to Dynamic Fleet automatically.
  • On-premise or cloud services

Dynamic Fleet fits easily into most IT infrastructures and the server software run on Windows, Linux or OS X platforms. In addition, Dynamic Fleet offers a cloud version. Depending on your preferences, you may choose to install the system on premise or access the cloud version.
  • Route guidance on smartphone/tablet

The web app integrates with the google maps app to provide route guidance to the driver. With just a single click, the Google Maps App calculates the route to the next customer and provides a turn-by-turn directions guidance.
  • Support for iOS, Android, and Windows

The system supports all the modern smartphone and tablet platforms, such as iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices. By using the cross-platform HTML5 standard drivers can install a web app, from which they can communicate status to the server along with feedback information associated to orders. The web App integrates with phone voice call-functionality and Google Maps for route guidance.
  • Monitoring of vehicle locations

On regular basis, vehicles/drivers report their current GPS position to the central server. The Dispatcher Client monitors the location of the vehicles. This online monitoring enables re planning or customer notification in case of delays or unforeseen events.
  • Feedback forms

To each order, a desired feedback form can be associated. Feedback form provide ability to collect data from service inspections or order delivery. The dispatcher can access the feedback for a given order. Alternatively, the form data can accessed and further processed by other internal systems such as ERP or Asset Management systems by integrations. Feedback form templates can contain different types of input fields.
  • Multilanguage support

The user interfaces support multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Turkish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Hindu.
